Carnival Float

If you plan on visiting Nice in February then you absolutely cannot miss Carnival! Beach in Nice

Looking for beautiful beaches? Then the South of France is the place for you! As previously mentioned Nice itself has the impressive 7km long promenade with beaches all along it that are great for swimming, however they are not sandy beaches. Although they are beautiful the rocks aren’t the most comfortable to lay on for tanning. Don’t let this discourage you though because just a short train ride away you can enjoy the amazing beaches of Villefranche, Juan Les Pins, Antibes and really anywhere else along the Cote D’Azur

16. Wineries

Chateau Crement Winery

One of my favorite reasons about living in the South of France is being able to try all the delicious wine, especially rose. As you explore Nice you may not realize that just a 15 minute drive outside of the city will take you to some breathtaking vineyards. Spend your afternoon touring the vineyard, learning about the production process all followed by a tasting of the product. Some of the best to visit are Château de Bellet, Domaine Saint Jean and my personal favorite Cremat Castle.
