About the Park

Flamingos at Parc Phoenix

Parc Phoenix opened its doors in 1990 and impressed with its diamond-shaped greenhouse which was the largest in the world at the time. Since the park was built in a marsh, it took over 26 months and 80 different companies to create. One would assume that the park’s name is related to the immortal bird, a Phoenix. However it is actually the name of the species of palm tree that is located throughout the park.

One of the main features of the area is the impressive “green diamond”; a 7000 m2 greenhouse. As you explore you will discover three main areas: the African garden, Central America and the ferns where you can also find Nile crocodiles. Wander through and admire the tropical paradise that they all help create. Smell the tropical flowers, visit the flamingos, and enjoy the peaceful sanctuary of the green diamond.

Parc Phoenix is not only known for its greenhouse but also for all the animals that call it home. As you wander you’ll find everything from wallabies and lemurs to otters and exotic birds. The park offers a  sanctuary for these animals who have been seized by the authorities or have been rescued from abandonment. With over 2000 different animals throughout the park, there is lots to discover.
